Cricket seems to be the only sport that deserves attention and money in Pakistan. Our government does not remember that hockey is our ‘national game’ and Pakistani players ranked among the top hockey players around the globe. Jahangir Khan, our squash hero, seems to have been forgotten.
Pakistan would excel at sports if at least half the money that is spent on cricket and its promotion was invested in the advancement of squash and hockey. I request the government authorities to promote other sports as well so that talented and hardworking players can emerge and make a name for themselves and our country.
