This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to the problem of frequent traffic jams in Karachi. The reasons for this problem are the construction of high-rise buildings, the same old narrow roads and a significant increase in the number of vehicles on road. In place of one bungalow or a house, multi-storey flats with twenty or above floors are constructed. The drainage lines are the same old and completely rotted, and are often choked, which creates hindrances in the smooth flow of the traffic.
The condition of drinking water supply is also alarming. The people are making hue and cry every passing day and are seen protesting for water on the roads, creating hindrances for the traffic. The higher authorities must take some major steps to control this situation. Proper planning is required to deal with the situation in an effective manner.
