The problem of long hours of loadshedding is increasing at an unprecedented rate. The government is trying to resolve the problem, but to no avail. This has made the lives of the people miserable. Because of the power shortfall, the authorities have set a schedule of loadshedding across the country. In big cities, the duration of loadshedding is between 7 and 8 hours where as in small villages the power remains out for 15 to 16 hours.
Citizens have to put up with the menace of loadshedding, although they pay electricity bills on time. It is also observed that the government is not taking the right steps to resolve the issue. The need of the hour is to bring reforms to the country’s power sector.
