The brotherly relations between  Pakistan and Kuwait have been further  cemented following Prime  Minister Nawaz Sharif’s two-day  visit to Kuwait on March 6. The  Pakistani PM and Kuwait Amir  Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jabbar  Al-Sabah held a detailed meeting on  matters of mutual interest and decided  to enhance the level of cooperation  between the two countries  in various fields.  According to reports in the  media, Kuwait agreed to waive the  six-year-old restriction on the issuance  of visas to Pakistanis and  the amir of Kuwait issued directives  to the concerned officials, including  the Kuwaiti prime minister, to complete  the process immediately. This  will increase employment opportunities  for many Pakistanis. Moreover,  on the proposal put forward  by Nawaz, the amir of Kuwait also  agreed to set up a ‘joint business  council’ to explore the possibilities  of boosting trade ties. This will  mean Pakistan will receive investments  from Kuwaiti businessmen  and enterprises.  Ibrar Hussain  Lahore
