Last Sunday, more than 30 people were killed in a road accident in Kenya. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the East African country is one of the worst countries in the world for road safety. The bus involved in the accident was not only speeding, but was also in the wrong lane.
The accident that happened in Kenya is somewhat similar to road accidents in Pakistan. Almost every day, we see vehicles driving in the wrong lane. What is seen by a shortcut to reach a destination quicker could be the reason behind a fatal accident. It is the responsibility ofto drive carefully on roads. The of transport like buses, taxis and rickshaws have more responsibility to drive with care. Their negligence can put the lives of innocent passengers in danger. The traffic police authorities must also impose heavy financial penalties on who are either speeding or driving in the wrong lane. Let’s be responsible citizens and work together for road safety.
