The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has lambasted the Punjab government on social media for sharing pictures of American power plants with the latter’s tweets about the recently inaugurated Sahiwal power plant.

The party’s official account tweeted:

Cyber crime: ‘PTI social media activist in FIA custody’

The PTI maintained that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was trying to deceive the nation by using these pictures.

On May 24, the Punjab government had tweeted:

No load-shedding after 2018, says Nawaz

The two pictures are in fact of American power plants taken in 2007 and 2009.
