Despite paying a hefty sum of Rs27 billion to the Water and Power Development Authority, Sindh is facing unannounced loadshedding in the hot weather. The federal government is carrying out up to 20 hours of loadshedding. Nothing is being done to tackle the situation.
The government is requested to take immediate steps to minimise loadshedding in Sindh. The provincial government is also recommended to provide tariff differential support to NCPPs that hold valid gas allocation and are willing to install new power plants before the summer of 2018. This well help it reduce loadshedding in the province.
