Students of government colleges in Mardan failed to achieve top honours in the Intermediate examination that were recently conducted by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE). Despite the provincial government’s tall claims about bringing a tangible change in the education sector, the recent results offer an opposite and dismal picture. A majority of parents of the students at government colleges are also not satisfied with the performance of these colleges.
The poor performance of government schools should be a matter of serious concern for the provincial education minister. There is a pressing need to revise the education policy in order to improve the province’s education sector.
