KARACHI: Pakistan men’s handball team tasted their third straight defeat when they were downed by hot favourites Saudi Arabia in their group’s last league game of the Fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, on Friday.
Pakistan, who had lost to Azerbaijan and Algeria in their previous two outings, went 35-26 down against Saudi Arabia, which was a much better show.
This was Saudi Arabia’s third straight win. At interval, Saudi Arabia were leading 19-10.
In the second half, Pakistan played a lot better but it was still not enough.
Pakistan will face Jordon in the play-off for the seventh place on Saturday (today).
