Seminar on traffic rules

OKARA: National Highway and Motorway Police SSP Mirza Faran Baig has said that traffic on roads has increased manifolds during the last 10 years.
Addressing a seminar on traffic rules and road safety measures at the TMA Hall on Thursday, he said that 14,000 people died in road accidents annually in the country. The SSP, however, claimed that accidents had reduced due to his better strategy. District Bar Association president Khan Ziaullah Khan, secretary general Rai Ijazul Haq, former Okara Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Chaudhry Arshad Iqbal, Okara Press Club chairman Munir Chaudhry, District Officer Coordination Shahid Zaman Luk, Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran general secretary Malik Qadeer Hussain and Muhammad Aslam Piracha advocate, in their addresses, highlighted the importance of wearing helmets while driving motorcycles and fastening seatbelts in cars. Later, the SSP gifted helmets to 10 students.
