Smartphones have indeed made our lives a lot easier. Despite their advantages, we must recognise the fact that the excessive use of such technology has deprived us of our capacity for critical thought. There has been a sharp decline in reading habits because it is easier to scan through a phone screen than flip through the pages of a book.

More often than not, students in classrooms can be seen using their phones rather than consulting books for their assignments. It is also unfortunate that our youth are spending more time glued to their phone screens instead of getting involved in other activities. Our phones may have become smarter, but they have sapped us of our intelligence.
