Nasrullah Sand is one of the remote villages in Thar. The village, like most of the Thar villages, lack basic facilities. Villagers are deprived of healthcare facilities, sufficient supply of food and water, and properly constructed roads. Villagers get stuck in menial jobs. These problems need a permanent solution. The short-term relief support is no solution to the long-term problems of the people. It is widely accepted fact that education supplements progress. Education can change the destiny of the people of this area. Through education, the villagers can upgrade their lifestyle. They can, for example, move to nearby cities and have a decent job. Therefore the establishment of a university in Thar is essential. This will be a major step that will help transform the lives of the people. At present, the people cannot afford the accommodation and travel costs to move to cities and get high education there.

Considering the abovementioned points, the news that the higher authorities are considering establishing a university in Thar uplifted the spirits of the people. It is hoped that after completing their studies, villagers will be eligible to apply to high paying jobs in both the public and private sectors. They can also work in the ongoing coal-related projects. Only a long-term and well-planned solution can alleviate the sufferings of the people of Nasrullah Sand.
