Physically handicapped, deaf, dumb and blind people are known as people with disabilities. These people need extra attention which is given by people around them. In the same way, their particular requirements are also addressed and provided to them to the maximum extent possible. It is good to note that the Punjab government is paying special attention to these people. It has made arrangements for conducting technical training for these people to help them learn new skills, leading them to get a good job. According to some media reports, as many as 4,000 people with disabilities have already been provided jobs that match with the skills they possess. This is just the first step in the right direction.
The provincial government has more plans in the pipeline to help them overcome their disability and do whatever work they can after receiving vocational training. It is also promoting the culture of public private partnership for the betterment of these people. While the provincial government is doing all it can for the welfare of these people, it is also the responsibility of all of us to create a supporting environment for them.
