ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday directed the counsel for the former president General (retired) Pervez Musharraf to submit medical reports at the next hearing of the judges’ detention case.
Furthermore, the court has summoned witnesses for recording evidence at the next date. The ATC-II judge, Sohail Ikram, has summoned Assistant Sub-Inspector Dildar, Head Constable Muhammad Abdul and Constable Hammadullah to record their statements.
On Friday, the counsel for Musharraf, requested the court to exempt his client from appearance due to his health issues and security concerns. He also requested to summon the witnesses in Musharraf’s absence.
Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Aamir Nadeem Tabish opposed the request, saying Musharraf was not taking the case seriously and has not been appearing before the court for a long time.
He also raised objection over examination of witnesses in the absence of Musharraf.
