This refers to the article, ‘Politics of personality, not principle’ (Mar 10), by Nadir Hassan. The writer has raised concerns over the establishment of military courts, but failed to support the assertion that these courts ‘have low standards of evidence’. The courts have been established after the unanimous decision of all political parties. Had there been any flaw in the courts’ structure, such decisions would not have been taken.
The argument that military courts didn’t play any role in curbing terrorism in the country is weak. The past record shows that the courts had played a significant role in the country’s war on terror.
