An under-trial suspect out on bail from jail was among four people shot dead across the city on Friday.
Two attackers riding a motorcycle shot dead Dilawar alias Khan Saab in Orangi Town No. 13 when he was returning home after offering Friday prayers, Orangi Town police said.
The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The victim had suffered six bullet wounds, including three in the face, Peerabad SDPO Zahid Siddiqi said.
The police found eight spent 9mm bullet casings from the crime scene. Investigators termed the murder a part of the ongoing target killings but said that other aspects would also be investigated.
Painter shot dead
Shahid Hussain was gunned down by his friend after an exchange of hot words between the men, Mochko police said.
Iqbal had come to the house of Hussain in Mawach Goth to help resolve a petty matter. The discussion turn violent, however, and Iqbal took out his pistol and shot dead Shahid,
Mochko SHO Liaquat Ali said. The victim was a painter. The police have arrested the suspected murderer with the weapon and investigations are under way.
An unidentified man was shot dead in Old Golimar, Pak Colony SHO Bilal Raza said.
The victim had suffered multiple bullet wounds and was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The motive behind the murder was unclear but investigations were under way, police said.
Labourer shot dead
A labourer, identified as Inayat Shah, was shot dead by two motorcyclists near Shaheen Hotel in Shershah. The victim was taken to the Civil hospital, Shehshah SHO Shamuz Zaman said.
He hailed from Bajaur Agency and may have been killed over a personal enmity.
