Deforestation in Pakistan is going on at a rapid pace. The government is doing nothing to deal with the issue. The need of the hour is to take concrete steps to deal with the situation. The reason for lack of attention to this serious problem is that many people are not aware about the growing challenges of climate change. The government must set up programmes to raise awareness among people.
As of now, there is only one forest institute in the country. Since the institute is in Peshawar, many students cannot apply to the institute. The education department of every province must set up a forest institute. The curriculum must be comprehensive. Only well-versed students can come up with sound strategies to tackle this situation.
