It is a heartbreaking fact that the number of children involved in labour is escalating at an unprecedented rate. In the country, a large number of underprivileged children are out of school. Instead of going to school, these children work from dawn to dusk to help their parents meet monthly expenses. These children do not have time to play and behave like children of their age.
Child labour is the modern form of slavery. It is unfair that small children have to work under harsh and difficult conditions. It is the government’s responsibility to take concrete steps to curb child labour.
