QUETTA: Two militants behind the recent sectarian killings have been captured from Quetta during the on-going search operation against terrorists, security forces claimed on Friday.
According to security sources, acting on a tip-off, the law enforcement agencies arrested two terrorists involved in recent sectarian killings in Quetta and shifted them to an unidentified location. “Both terrorists were responsible for recent sectarian murders in Quetta and have confessed to their crimes during interrogation,” a security forces official said.
Meanwhile, during a joint search operation by Frontier Corps (FC) and Police at least 70 suspects were hauled in from Sariyab, Qambrani Road, Gawalmandi, Kechi Baig, and Pashtunabad areas for questioning. At least 12 persons have been killed during the recent resurgence of sectarian violence in Quetta.
A constable of security forces was killed and four others were injured when unidentified assailants opened fire on a Multan-bound bus on a desolate stretch of highway in Musakhel district of Balochistan on Friday.
According to Levies officials, a Loralai-Multan bound bus came under attack at Kingri area of the north-eastern district which borders Dera Ghazi Khan in Punjab. Assailants fired on the bus and fled, he said.
“Constable Rafiullah was killed on the spot while four persons including the bussustained injuries,” he added. An official at Loralai DC office Nizamud Din confirmed the incident.
Security forces and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the deceased and injured to nearby hospital. Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to arrest the culprits behind the attack. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
