In Pakistan, women are considered to be the vulnerable sections of society. The key factor behind their backwardness is the lack of education in the country. According to a recent report, 80,539 women have become victims of crimes such as rape, murder, acid attacks and honour killings. Around 13 percent of these girls are below the age of 15. Most of these women have no access to free medical sources and guidance as they have not been taken to hospitals at the time of the emergency cases. Some of them are housewives who don’t have any source of income and, therefore, have no real decision-making abilities.
Women in Pakistan suffer mental or physical torture, discrimination and brutality at the hands of men. It is our moral responsibility to respect women and ensure that their rights are not infringed upon. The government and non-profit organisations should adopt a serious attitude in this regard.
