Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said on Monday the 10-party alliance comprises allies of former dictator General Zia, who did no good for the province or its people.
In a statement, he alleged that these “turncoat politicians” had received bouquets from Zia and rigged the election of 1990. He said the nation knew that the politicians that received money included Mian Nawaz Sharif and Pir Pagara.
Khuhro said the conspiracy to push the PPP against the wall would not succeed as the people were with the PPP. He said some people, in the past, had accused the PPP of supporting Waderas and Pirs, but today they themselves had gathered behind a Pir. He said that no Sindh vote would be cast for a Pir or a Mir but for the party of Benazir Bhutto.
